Honor a Friend or Loved One With a Donation

The Halifax County Historical Society invites you to become a member for the upcoming year. The Society’s mission is to bring together those interested in preserving historical facts, artifacts, and structures in our county. Members receive the quarterly Bulletin, a publication having articles and information pertaining to historic events, sites, and happenings. The Society sponsors lectures and activities relating to history and preservation and publishes various books and other materials featuring family papers, court records and historic events.

Consider joining as a new member and the important role you can play in this organization by joining a committee, helping catalog papers, letters and other donated items. If you’d like to contribute in memory or to honor of a family member or friend, your gift will be appreciated. Donations of all kinds help the Society “share” history with the community. Annual membership runs September through August.

Presently, the Society has two major projects: (1) Renovation and upkeep of the Chaffin House, the organization’s new home. Plans are in the works to begin a capital campaign; (2) The Century Cotton Mills Tower restoration, especially the “Memory Bricks” project to complete the tower’s entrance sidewalk.

Forms to join and/or donate can be found under "About the Society" on this website.
