The Historical Society is beginning a new and fun way to get to know the significant historical places within Halifax County. Every month or so, we will give you a small section of a historical place. Our visitors can then try to identify what the place is and where it is located. Then at the end of the month, before we publish another unique place, we will put your name in our “News” section and tell the history of the mystery place.
The Confederate Soldier on the Halifax County Courthouse square was our first Mistory History. No one tried to guess what it was. Watch for other Mistory History images the the coming months.
On the "In The News" list, you will see a picture of close-up of something that is prominently displayed in the county. If you know what this is, just send an email to either, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com and put Mistory History in the subject line. The hunt for the mistory history will end 1 month after this posing date. Happy hunting!
